No Dig Growing  has many benefits for us and the environment.  By protecting and feeding the soil we get fewer weeds  and we have a soft surface to work on that holds moisture well and does not need watering so much in dry weather.  All the soil organisms and  the mycorrhizal fungi are not destroyed as they can be if we dug the plot.  No Dig is a big time saver.

NO Dig works a bit like a forest floor, imagine,  when it is  covered with leaves and  they decay. 

The layers of compost help the worms and protozoas in the soil.  This improves drainage and heals poor soils 

  Less carbon is released into the atmosphere  as you are not breaking the surface so we are helping the climate as well.
